Our CHEERFIT brand ambassadors share with us their personal stories and obstacles they overcome along the way. The ambassador community connects them with other athletes from all over the world – they have formed amazing friendships and motivate each other to pursue their goals and build confidence! This week are proud to share with you the Ambassador of the Week Feature with Kalie Pagel, as she tells us about herself and how she stands up for the people she cares about!

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

I was born 10 weeks too early and spent 28 days in the hospital at birth. Growing up a triplet had been amazing, I would not trade my brothers for anything, they are my best friends.


I will stand up for them no matter what.


This past year was hard on our family as one of them went through a difficult time, due to medicine changes, the loss of a friend to death, and a friend being bullied  – he became suicidal. Thank goodness my mom knew what to do, and thank goodness he reached out to her. He is doing great today and now I stand up for all kids, regardless of who they are to help ensure no one else goes through what we did.

HOW HAS BEING AN AMBASSADOR HELPED YOU?

Being an ambassador has helped me to stay focused on fitness that will help with the cheer sport, and has helped me to overcome my anxiety disorder.

Being a CHEERFIT ambassador has lead to me becoming a model for a clothing line.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

I have really enjoyed the daily challenges and being able to talk with other cheerleaders about fitness!

Becoming an ambassador requires dedication and determination. It is a lot of fun and provides you with the opportunity to interact with so many people.

The CHEERFIT ambassador community is filled with leaders and motivators who all share a passion for fitness, love for cheering and drive to help inspire others.

Many of our ambassadors now live the CHEERFIT lifestyle after years of cheering, some recovering from injuries that occurred during their career. That is, after all, the reason CHEERFIT was founded . . .to be a constant reminder that cheerleaders need a fitness component in their current cheer regimen and training. One of our ambassadors shared with us how her injury changed her perspective and how she was absolutely determined to get back on top! We are proud to share with you this week’s Ambassador of the Week Feature with May May Trotter.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

I just wanted to share with all my fellow cheerleader athletes – you will have set backs – injuries, sicknesses, mental blocks, etc. The true accomplishment is to push through, stick with it, have a positive attitude and KEEP AT IT!!! After I broke my foot in April, I thought it would be easy to come right back where I left off after the doctor gave me the green light! But I quickly realized that it takes endurance and effort, and coming back to the gym DAILY if needed to fight through the physical and mental blocks that come after an injury. I have a new heart for others who have experienced injuries now. It’s hard to watch others gain new skills and get better when you are just trying to get back to your old self.


I learned that I am strong, and that I am a fighter.


And I also learned that I have a huge army of friends, teammates, and coaches that will help me every step of the way. 🙂

HOW HAS BEING AN AMBASSADOR HELPED YOU?

Being an ambassador has motivated me to be a better ME! I broke my foot back at the end of April. It was a serious injury that, fortunately, did not require surgery. I was out of cheer for 8 weeks, even missing the final competition of the season. It was so scary returning to tumbling, since I broke my foot doing a double full! I realized that I needed to get strong again and condition my body after being out for so long. This was my first big injury in the sport of cheer. I had a huge reality check that this sport is dangerous and I need to prepare my body and mind for the work I do! It has been a slow recovery and introduction back to tumbling. Staying fit and in shape helps prepare me to get back to where I was before I was hurt! I want to be a better leader and positive influence on my own teammates and in the sport of cheerleading. CHEERFIT gives me challenges that I love and I talk about with my friends and in my gym. I love that it makes staying fit more FUN by watching other ambassadors complete challenges. While other companies may focus on the FACE of cheer, CHEERFIT really focuses on the whole body. I want to be in the BEST shape I can be for this important season . . .it is the first time I can be on a Worlds-level team, since I just turned 12 this year! And especially coming back after a tough injury, I am super motivated to WORK! So thank you, CHEERFIT for reminding me to challenge myself!

WHAT NEW OPPORTUNITIES HAS BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR OPENED UP FOR YOU? 

I have met so many other cheerleaders around the country through social media! They reach out to support me and I try to do the same! Being from a small town in Alabama, I don’t often get to know cheerleaders around the country. We have all connected through Facebook and Instagram and I love following their stories. We all need to stick together and show the world that Cheerleading is a SPORT and we are ATHLETES!

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL OTHERS WHO WANT TO BECOME AN AMBASSADOR?

I want to tell all my friends and followers to join the CHEERFIT team – so they can see the importance of putting fitness FIRST in our sport. This company really provides us all the tools, from work out programs to daily challenges to fantastic contests! They really don’t just choose ambassadors. They focus on helping cheerleaders stay FIT and spreading the word by selecting ambassadors who want to do the same! Being a CHEERFIT Ambassador will help get you prepared for this upcoming season!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

I love to represent any company that supports cheer and supports staying fit and active! I have loved meeting other ambassadors around the country and sharing stories about our programs and our journey in cheer. With competition season around the corner, we ALL need to get back in to shape and start conditioning so we can make it through those 2 1/2 minute routines on the stage! I want to be the best for my team – and being a CHEERFIT ambassador has really put exercise at the front of my priorities! It was all perfect timing!

The CHEERFIT ambassador community is filled with leaders and motivators who all share a passion for fitness, love for cheering and drive to help inspire others. We are made up of a community of athletes who were inspired by the cheer sport and went for it!

Our brand ambassadors have all become cheer athletes for many different reasons, and each story is different from the next. One ambassador shared with us when she first became inspired by cheerleading and why she was driven to fulfill her cheer goals. We can all definitely relate to her wise and encouraging words, and we are proud to share with you this Ambassador of the Week Feature with Chloe Clevenger.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

When I was three years old my favorite movie was High School Musical. I enjoyed watching the main characters sing and dance, but my favorite part was the cheerleaders. Even though they were only in the ending of the movie, I knew that I wanted to be one. I talked to my parents about it and they signed me up for a cheer team.

At first I was not very good at all, but after some hard work and practice I got better. That year my goal was to get my cartwheel, then the next year my goal was to get my back handspring. No matter how hard I worked I could not stop bending my arms, but I didn’t give up. I came to the gym outside of practice and worked every week to get it. Finally one day at tumbling class it happened. I didn’t bend my arms! I worked so hard and my parents even bribed me, but when I did it I forgot all about that.


From the first day of cheer to present day, I never quit working on new skills. Most importantly, I never give up!


Sometimes things don’t come easy, but you can’t give up! You have to keep trying and remember to never give up. If you want something, then work for it and believe that you can do it!

HOW HAS BEING AN AMBASSADOR HELPED YOU?

Being an ambassador helped me become a leader, build my confidence and to keep working and staying fit. I have always been shy, but now I feel that I can share stretching and fit tips with my friends and teammates. I also feel the sudden urge to keep working out, and I believe that part of this is because of the motivation I get from the CHEERFIT family.

WHAT NEW OPPORTUNITIES HAS BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR OPENED UP FOR YOU? 

One new opportunity that I have is the chance to be an ambassador model. I also have more stretch and fitness tips to share with my friends and teammates!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

I love being an ambassador for cheerFIT! My favorite part of being an ambassador is having a group of amazing people there for me. The CHEERFIT family is so supportive of each other and we motivate each other too. I love that I have the CHEERFIT family to help me through tough times, motivate me to keep working, and to cheer me up.

The CHEERFIT ambassador community is filled with leaders and motivators who all share a passion for fitness, love for cheering and drive to help inspire others. We are made up of a community of driven and educated motivators who constantly strive to see the best in others.

Our CHEERFIT brand ambassadors are passionate about having a positive impact on the lives of others. Bella, an athlete and coach for a special needs competition cheer team, told us what motivates her and what amazing things she is doing within her community. We are proud and honored to share with you this week’s Ambassador of the Week Feature with Bella Banuls.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

I have been cheering in competitions both as an Allstar and recreation cheerleader since I was 3, and I think I was 8 or 9 when I choreographed a routine for my current town’s Cubs football cheerleaders. I also choreographed a routine last year for Sacred Heart school’s basketball cheerleaders.

Last year, I started coaching this amazing group of special needs kids, most of them older than me, and that is by far my passion! Sparks is a special needs competition team that travels NJ performing at competitions. I choreograph the routines, pick the 8 counts of songs, pick transition words teach and perform with them!


It’s a rewarding experience for me because cheer is my passion and Sparks competitive special needs cheerleaders are my life!


We also give back by doing community service. This year we are affiliating and hosting a band-aid drive and a food drive for HUMC Tomorrow’s Children, a town clean up in the town we practice in, and Sacred Heart church food drive.

I also started a special needs beach ball dancercise class and a special needs track team! Cheerleading has changed my life and I hope I can help change our special needs cheerleaders lives.

I am so excited and honored to be a CHEERFIT ambassador and I plan on helping my team become healthy through fitness and nutrition thanks to CHEERFIT! ❤️

I am defining my abs and increasing my flexibility  – my jumps and stunts are so much better! I want to improve my health by eating better and I want to stay fit through exercise and CHEERFIT helps me to do that!

I now have the opportunity to pass this on to my special needs squad SPARKS that I coach and my SHS cheerleaders I cheer with!

The workouts and being able to socialize with cheerleaders from all over! I am also so excited and honored to be a CHEERFIT ambassador. I plan on helping my special needs team become healthy through fitness and nutrition, thanks to CHEERFIT! ❤️

10 Simple Ways to Instantly Lift Your Spirits!

While we like to be on point 100% of the time, once in a while we feel stuck or challenged with a situation that brings us down. The cheerFIT team has put together a list of our 10 favorite, easy and natural mood-boosters to pick us up and remind us that there are so many great things around us to be thankful for!

  1. Call or visit a friend 

Feeling extra stressed with life right now? A cheerFIT favorite remedy feeling overwhelmed is taking a moment to call a best friend. It’s great to catch up on life and share what’s going on – your mood and energy will instantly change for the better! -Sometimes we need to get some perspective from our closest, best friends to help us stay motivated and remember why we started in the first place!

  1. Pamper yourself 

Let’s face it – we all need a little “me” time once in a while. Maybe you’ve had a hard day or finally conquered that goal you’ve been working on for months – don’t forget to reward yourself! Have a little DIY night with a homemade face mask or bubble bath, and finish the experience with a fresh smoothie or cup of green tea. Add a little ambience with some pretty spa music for total relaxation!

  1. Buy some fresh flowers 

A fresh bouquet of flowers creates a happy addition to any room. Pick up a few sunflowers and put them in a vase in the room you spend the most time in. Sunflowers are known to symbolize long life, happiness and good luck – not to mention their pretty golden color instantly brightens up a room!

  1. Exercise!

This is a no-brainer, especially for you fitness fanatics! Pop in your cheerFIT bootcamp vid or try your favorite cheerFIT challenge (share your results for a little recognition!) Working out naturally boosts your mood and confidence, keeping you looking and feeling amazing!

  1. Put away your technology 

Take a few hours away from your cell phone, iPad, TV, computer, video game, or anything that distracts you from the real world. Step outside and go for a walk or have a face-to-face talk with people in your family. While having access to technology has become a part of our every day life and connects us to the world, sometimes we forget to make time for the people right in front of us with no distractions.

  1. Daydream!

After a busy day of running around, sometimes you’re left feeling overwhelmed and clouded within your thoughts. Take a second to drop everything, close your eyes and sit quietly for a few minutes . . .take the opportunity to think about your day or your week. If you really don’t have time during the day, do this just before bed to clear your mind of any worries and remind yourself of what you accomplished thus far and where you strive to be!

  1. Compliment a stranger 

Doesn’t it feel great when someone says something nice to you? Do the same for someone totally random! Compliment their outfit, hair or positive attitude – I promise you’ll not only make them feel great, but you too will feel happy you took the time to let them know you care.

  1. Donate to a charity or someone in need

We have many blessings in life we often overlook, and some others may not be so fortunate. Go through some of your stuff or good condition clothes that you don’t use anymore and donate them to your favorite charity or to a friend in need. It’s the best feeling when you know you can help others and bring a little happiness to their life.

  1. Spend time with your pet 

Animals love us unconditionally, no matter what mood we are in or what we look like! Unwinding and spending quality time with your beloved fur baby is a great way to relieve anxiety – pup kisses are included for an extra bonus pick-me-up, free of charge J

  1. Volunteer 

Look on Facebook or online for volunteer opportunities in your area. Many animal shelters or homes for children look for volunteers to aid a helping hand – you will brighten up someone else’s day along with your own, which is a total win-win! Plus, it’s a great way to give back to your community and you can add to your resume or portfolio! Perspective schools or scholarship programs love to see community involvement.

Christina was a cheerleader all throughout high school, participating in a few competitions during her time there. She has a passion for the fashion industry and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, with years of experience in retail, visual merchandising and styling. In addition to her love of the cheer sport, some of her other favorite things are creative writing, dancing, pilates, green tea, and spending time with her dog Jersey and cat Savannah! She is currently living in South Korea with her military husband, spreading the cheerFIT lifestyle overseas!
