DO YOU WANT TO FEEL THE BURN?

Whether you are starting to think about getting in cheer shape for tryouts (they will be here before you know it), feeling the burn (OUT) from competition season, or you just want a fun way to stay motivated when working out, this week’s workout challenge #3 will give ya that oh so good burn feeling!

Let’s face it, some things are just better together – like working out!

In this week’s bonus workout challenge, we are focusing on a multifunctional joint exercise called a lunge. But not just any lunge, a partner lunge.

A lunge is a great total body exercise because while you are feeling the burn in your legs, you are actually working your core too! Even better, teaming up with your SWEATheart really kicks this exercise up a notch.

So grab your workout bud and let’s go!

CHALLENGE #3: How many PARTNER LUNGES can you do in 60 seconds?

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Tag your SWEATheart to join the challenge
  • Post your results @cheerfittraining
  • Use the hashtag #cheerfitchallenge.

Lunges are a great total body exercise.

Here’s why:

  • Speed up metabolism: Lunges effectively work your glutes and quadriceps and also engage your hamstrings. Strengthening these large muscle groups can speed up your metabolism and help you get in cheer shape.
  • Improve your core strength: When doing lunges, you must engage your core muscles, including your back and abdominals. And that means a strong core!

Which means….solid stunts!

And now that we are talking about solid stunts, here is where the partner factor comes into play! To be successful in mastering the partner lunge, it is all about timing. Similar to stunting, you need to be on point with your timing.

So this week, I want you to focus on strengthening your core and being extra careful when going through the motions of each stunt. It’s not just 1-2-3-4 it is communicating with your stunt group each and every stunt.

Now go get your cheerFIT Challenge on! How many PARTNER LUNGES can you do in 60 seconds?

Enjoy the workout challenge!
